About Broomgrove

About-us-staff-in-reception

Broomgrove is a gem of a nursing home based just off Ecclesall Road in the leafy southwest of Sheffield but within a stone’s throw of the city centre, major hospitals and direct routes into the city.

We are a close community of around 40 nursed residents, 3 residential tenants and over 80 staff. For over 50 years we have provided high-quality long-term, medium-term, respite and convalescent care for people of all ages who have physical illnesses or disabilities.

In some ways, we are unique. We are the only charity within Sheffield’s nursing home sector and invest any profit we make to further improve our services to residents and their families.

In addition to high-quality general nursing, we offer palliative care as a particular specialism. Not only does this recognise the exceptionally high level of qualification and expertise of our nursing staff, but also that of our hand-picked GP service.

The home was designed with the older person in mind, providing clear access throughout the building for Residents with mobility restrictions. Broomgrove has long been renowned for its warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere and its high quality care.

The care that my mum has received and continues to receive is second-to-none. The home is light, airy, beautifully maintained and very welcoming. The staff who know every resident and their individual needs are thoroughly professional and friendly and very kind. They ensure Mum is beautifully dressed and take time to apply perfume and hand cream which she loves. The food is excellent and varied. There is a team of staff who organise regular social activities as well as special events such as themed garden parties or musical/drama performances to which relatives are invited and made very welcome. It is made very clear that the care and support offered by the staff extends to the family and friends of the residents and never was this more apparent when Mum was discharged from hospital just before I was out of the country for a month. Whilst away I received photos of mum and regular updates which were very reassuring and much appreciated. I cannot recommend Broomgrove highly enough.

The care Mum is receiving is very good and we have NO qualms about the standard of care she is offered and we understand how difficult it can be dealing with the elderly who have memory change!
