Donna Pierpoint, manager of Broomgrove Nursing Home, is now one of four presenters fronting the brand new ‘Caring View Chat Show’ which is being broadcast weekly on YouTube.
She is taking her championing of rights for the elderly to a global audience.
The idea actually started in lockdown on Twitter.
Donna Pierpoint found herself getting in regular debates on the platform with other people championing social care issues in lockdown.
Four of them – all experts in their individual areas – were debating the lack of platforms to discuss topics around care and decided to create their own.
The Caring View – which they describe as being “a little like Loose Women” but for social care – airs every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm
Donna Pierpoint said: “We’re all care managers that have found ourselves under the media spotlight in the pandemic as we’ve done a lot to highlight the very real challenges facing the industry.”
The show’s other presenters are Adam Purnell, care quality lead at Kepplegate Care home in Lancashire; London-based Mark Topps who launched a petition championing the rights of the elderly that led to a parliament debate and Dawn Bunter, care home manager at Iceni House in Norfolk.
