Funding your care

Our fees and charges reflect our high level of care, professional expertise, accommodation and range of support services provided to a high specification. Each person’s needs and circumstances vary enormously, so for information which would relate to you specifically, please talk to us.

Some Residents may be initialled to funding towards our fees from the NHS. This is funded through Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group. This may already be in place on admission or an assessment may take place. The Management team review all residents on a regular basis and any change of needs that may meet the criteria for NHS funding are acted upon.

Advice on funding is available from the Manager or Administrator.

“I just like the general atmosphere – it’s great. It’s the staff that make it. Also, there is no question that a charity is the best management for a home. It’s not ‘out for profits’ – it’s all about the residents.”

As a charity, we subsidise the cost of routine weekly GP ward-rounds and site-based surgeries by our specialist doctors and free physiotherapy and complementary therapy sessions for those residents who need them.

Any proceeds remaining at the end of each financial year are reinvested into the Home, either to improve the building and its facilities or to subsidise services for our residents.

Mum has been staying at Broomgrove for the last 3 months following a hospital admission. We were so lucky to find such a welcoming and well-run nursing home at such short notice. It has worked out so well for Mum who has settled in really well. Every member of staff we have met is friendly and caring. Like all families we had some concerns about Mum going into a home, I would reassure anyone thinking of using Broomgrove, I don’t think you could a better home from home anywhere else.

Sue R (Daughter of Resident) Testimonial

My parents moved to Broomgrove ten months ago. The service and physical environment are excellent. The home is led by an exceptional manager, who, like her colleagues, never seems too busy to give her time. Staff go about their work with a light touch and good humour. They are approachable, receptive and empathic, and listen to residents and visitors with respect. One example: while having lunch with my parents, a carer asked if a resident would like some sauce. When he didn't reply, she took the time to tell him the options and he chose one. Another example: at the end of a meal, my mother was talking to a resident at another table. A carer asked if they wanted to continue chatting. When they said yes, she offered to bring the other resident over. We are always struck by the calm, pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The building is clean and well-maintained. We have experience of other care/nursing homes, and Broomgrove is the nicest one we have seen.
