Donna has worked at Broomgrove since June 2013. With over 20 years experience in the care home sector, Donna came to Broomgrove with a wealth of experience. She qualified as a nurse in 1994 and her first job was as a nurse in a care home. She never looked back and has remained in care homes all of her career. Her first manager’s post was in 2002.
Before joining Broomgrove Donna worked with NHS England to develop an improvement plan for care homes across the UK.
Donna enjoys the outdoors, walking in the countryside or sailing around the coastline.
She has her own column in The Star newspaper to champion better care for the elderly people of Sheffield.
Wendy started work at Broomgrove in February 1996 and is one of the longest standing employees. Wendy is a key member of the management team, working closely with Donna. As Administrator she processes all invoices and deals with fees and funding issues. She also coordinates the maintenance, service and repairs throughout the building.
Wendy has a level 3 diploma in Business and Administration, Advanced Level 3 Apprentice in Management, and Level 2 functional skills in IT.
Wendy loves spending time with her grandson Alfie and looks forward to her day off every Thursday to look after him. Wendy likes walking and travel. She has toured the Outer Hebrides, Canada and parts of America.
Janet has been the Senior Sister, at Broomgrove for over 7 years. She is the Clinical Nurse Manager and responsible for standards of care within the home. Janet supports the nurses to ensure we maintain excellent nursing practice.
Janet qualified as a State Registered Nurse in London in 1968 and went on to be a ward sister at Sheffield’s Nether Edge Hospital for 10 years. In 1996 she moved to the private sector and was a Nursing Home Manager for 8 years before becoming regional manager. She has extensive experience in care of the elderly.
Janet enjoys shopping and being glamorous. She has a very busy social life and is married to a Derbyshire farmer. She has a grown up family and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
Judy trained as a Nurse in 1974 in the North East, then came to Sheffield to further her training as a Children’s Nurse. Following the birth of her children she worked in the private sector at Claremont Hospital where she gained a wealth of experience and knowledge, which she brought to her role at Broomgrove.
Judy has been with us since 2004, moving from Sister to Team Leader and now to her current role as Clinical Nurse Manager.
Judy enjoys cooking, reading, walking and listening to music. She comes from a large family and makes sure they keep in touch, organising days out, parties and taking her grandchildren on trips.
Sarah is our Human Resources Manager and has worked at Broomgrove since May 2012. She provides support to the Nursing Home Manager, heads of departments and employees in all general HR and recruitment matters.
Sarah graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in Hospitality Management. After spending 10 years in the corporate sector, she wanted a fresh challenge and moved into Human Resources, for which she now possesses Level 5 in Human Resource Management.
Sarah is a self confessed shopaholic and loves spending time with her family, especially her little boy, William who keeps her very busy!
June is our Home Coordinator. She is responsible for organising the day-to-day running of Broomgrove and co-ordinating events. June also works with the Head Chef, Domestic Supervisor, Activities Co-ordinator and Administrator.
June started at Broomgrove in 1991 and is our longest standing staff member. She took the position of Housekeeper in 2006 before her present role in 2014. June is a very caring person and loves being being with the Residents.
June has Level 2, Health and Social care, intermediate food hygiene, has completed her fire marshal training and is our infection control link person.
June has six grandchildren, who keep her very busy outside work. She enjoys swimming and relaxing when she has time for it.
Anita is our Head Chef. and she has worked at Broomgrove for the last 7 years. Before this she worked as a chef at St Luke’s Hospice and has a total of 15 years experience catering for elderly and chronically ill people.
Anita has a City and Guilds qualification in Catering and her Advanced Food Hygiene certificate.
Anita’s high standards, exceptional food and professional presentation has earned Broomgrove a five star rating from Sheffield Environmental Health which is the highest rating.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for Anita and she spends a lot of time with the residents ensuring that meal times are a highlight of the day.
In her spare time Anita likes walking in the beautiful countryside of nearby Derbyshire.
